Nappy Nation. The no-fold
terry is a truly ingenious design. Each of the layers of this slimline
terry fold out for easy washing and drying, but the way they are sewn
means that they “want” to fold back together! The Nappy Nation Wraps are
similar in design to the Motherease Air Rikki, but have a more “plasticcy”
feel on the inside. They are designed to fit snugly over the no-fold terry.
Prices start as £7.00 for the wrap and £7.25 for the nappy.
The All In One is basically a no-fold terry fastened to a waterproof wrap.
Because it is only attached at the front and back, the drying time is
reduced when compared with other all in ones, plus the inner terry folds
out for easy drying too! At £11.99 it is not a cheap option, but is convenient.
Nappy Nation also offer bamboo prefolds and bamboo squares. Bamboo is
a fast growing hardy plant, which is both naturally antibacterial and
more absorbent than cotton. From £2.55 these give good value for money.
The Camomile liners are very soothing on baby’s bottom. At £4.35 for 50
they are more expensive than traditional liners, but a great item to have
in stock to soothe the odd nappy-rash flare up.
Nature Babies. The Diddy Diaper is a simple nappy. Made of unbleached
cotton its classic design with long flaps, makes it very adjustable and
at just £4.99 a real bargain.
For a birth to potty option the Dizzy Diaper with its fleece lining and
adjustable poppers is a cost effective choice. At £8.95 it is a more expensive
and more bulky nappy than the Motherease one size, but is more absorbent.
Nature Babies Classic Covers are the only wraps I have found that can
be adjusted in the rise. The polyester outer makes them less breathable
than other wraps, but the great colours and designs more than make up
for it. At £6.99 the price is pretty good too!
For an almost all-in-one, the “Stuffable” is a practical and easy to use
nappy. It is basically a Classic Cover, with a fleece lining. There is
an opening at the back so that the micro-insert or other material can
be folded and stuffed into the pocket. This allows you to tailor the absorbency.
At £9.99 for the nappy plus £2.25 for the insert, this is not a cheap
option, but having only one item to get on to a wriggly baby can be a
godsend, and of course the stuffing comes out for easy washing and quick
drying.
